I am trying to fabricate a 90deg bend on a .5" thick sheet metal (Gage 3/0). What are the allowable bent radii (inside) for the piece?
Is there a table?
Thanks, -Paul

pbovat (Mechanical) your bend rad would depend on what the material is. I am presuming it is Aluminum. Here are a selection of Rads taken from the Alcoa hand book These are for .5" thick material. 2024-0 3t-5t 2024t3 6t-9t 6061t6 4t-6t 7075-0 3t-5t 7075t6 7t-12t
These are inside bends T is the thickness of the material. B.E.

I do not think there is a link. Alcoa published a variety of these handbooks titled "The Alcoa Library of Helpful Information on Aluminum" The one I am quoting from is, "Forming Alcoa Aluminum"
The only link I could find was for a university that had a copy. http://www.metallurgy.utah.edu/facilities_research/library/ttlfiles/booksF/481aTS555_A683.html
