Has anyone seen a cross-reference from Douglas process specs to Boeing. I don't think the OEM would take the time to do this, but maybe one of you have seen this at your airline. The goal would be to use Boeing specs for Douglas models. Probably alot of research involved in creating this cross-reference. We experienced this recently with a longeron we were machining. It is very difficult to hold shape on 7075-T73 forging during machining. Post machining straightening is always required. However, if you ignore the drawing requirement for rough machine first, heat treat, then final machine; and machine in "0" condition and heat treat using BAC 5602 (which uses Aqua Quench, not available in DPS) warpage is almost eliminated. Anyone experienced similar problems?

abxliaison1, this doesn't answer your question because i don't have such a cross reference. but i am curious if your handle indicates you are with ABX Air in Wilmington, OH. I was once, a long time ago.

You are correct. Before you reveal yourself, give me some clues. I'm gonna guesss first name JOE.

Abx,
I was told that all the Douglas Processes have been converted to BAC specs already. What spec in particular are you looking for, maybe we can come up with the answer.

Actually I was hoping to find the cross reference list for all specs. Makes more sense to work to a current spec rather than the older DPS or developing in house specs.

abxliaison1, nice try. but i am probably from farther back in time than that. I have been gone from abx for about ten years. i am from so far back in time that i used to work for Tom Gallimore in avionics engineering. first name is Craig, and last name is not Boles, although I get to see Craig Boles occasionally when i visit Delta.

Hello Tim Howell! You must have very little to do if you have time to actually keep me in your memory banks!
I hope all is well at ABX, which I think is now part of DHL? North Carolina is great for many things, but sometimes I still miss the countryside around Wilmington.
BTW, I intend to look around some more at work on Monday and see if I can locate a BAC-DPS cross reference, but I was unable to do so before the Easter holiday was upon us.
Best regards to you all my fellow engineers at the old Clinton County AFB...
Craig
